Himalaya International Model Higher Secondary School (HIMS) has web site http://www.himsschool.com.

HIMS is a private school which from the beginning offered classes from nursery to Class X. Later on the school upgraded to the 10+2 stage.
The school offers full boarding and day boarding to its students.
The motto of the school is: "Inspiring a sense of universal responsibility".
Some details taken from the prospectus:
- Teacher-students ratio is kept at 1:30, on average,
- Teachers and other staff of HIMS are not allowed to use corporal punishment,
- Free tuition for students who have failed in the exams is arranged after the usual class hours,
- The school manages to have a minimum of 200 actual teaching days in an academic session. Friday is a half and Saturday is a full holiday. There is nearly one month Dashain/Tihar holidays, one month winter holidays and 12 to 15 days summer holidays.

in winter: 09:30 - 16:05 (November 1 - February 28)
- HIMS offers optional Tibetan classes,
- Cultural education (music/dance, painting, excursions) and sports,

- A bus service for day-boarders.

Here you find the fee structure for attending HIMS as a boarder and as a day-boarder. A disappointment is that you have to pay more than half the total for a year at the start of the academic year.
